Last night’s game was trippy. First of all, I had way too many things going on at once. The TV was going and I was semi-watching and listening to that and then I also had the BDL Live Blog open in one browser window on my laptop and the TNT quad cam open in another window with my headphones on. The TNT quad cam thing-a-majiggy is super cool and I highly recommend it. You get to hear so much more through that than you can hear through the TV. But I seriously almost hurt myself trying to keep up with so many different things going on at once… hehe. The very end of the game though, I watched from under the covers. I have to get up at 6:30am for my job and that game didn’t get over until midnight-ish my time. Or maybe it was the coverage that didn’t end until then, I can’t remember. I had to stay up to see what Kenny, Ernie and Charles (oh and Reggie) were going to say about the final play. My immediate thought when I saw the no-call was, “Hey no fair!” and then I remembered that I am supposed to hate the fking Spurs and should be happy… so I shut my piehole and went to sleep.
Tonight’s game… I still contend that its a coin flip. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Ooooh, wait wait wait… Jesus. Before I go, I just have to throw this out there. Michael Bivins should not be interviewing people for TNT. He’s just bad. Really bad. Sorry MB. I did giggle though when Mrs. Longoria Parker said, “He is a little bit of an actor” when asked about whether she worries about Tony’s health when he gets tossed around during games. Hehe. Gotta love her.

I’ve never been so happy to be right about something in my life. But, lets not get carried away here. I hate how people’s opinions change based on whichever way the wind is blowing. The Celtics don’t have any better of a chance now than they did a few days ago. Both teams are equally as likely to win the East and are equally as likely to bite it against whoever wins the West. It just is what it is. I’m cheering East all the way though regardless of whether its my team or Detroit.
It will be interesting tonight to see how the Lakers/fkingSpurs game shakes out. I think the (f)Spurs will win both games at home. I’m going to go out on a limb and pick the (f)Spurs in 7. I know the Lakers are the chic pick and I don’t deny their talent and the juggernaut that is Kobe Bean, but I think the (f)Spurs are (still) the better all-around team. (As I write this, I realize it could all blow up in my face with a bunch of Laker blowouts and a clean sweep… but, since I hate the (f)Spurs, I’d be a-ok with being 100% wrong.)

Work has been keeping me straight out busy lately, but I’ve still managed to watch a decent amount of the playoffs. It was funny the other night though to pass out from exhaustion around 11pm EST and have the Lakers down by 16 points or so and wake up the next morning to see that Kobe went off like a rocket and willed his team to the W. Kobe is Kobe so I suppose I shouldn’t have been that surprised, but anyone who can sniper a W from the fking Spurs is aces in my book. Tonight’s game should be interesting though. The Lakers must feel a little indestructable now… I know I would if I was laying in the sand dead and buried and still managed to vanguish the dragon.
Chauncey, Chauncey, Chauncey… You will haunt me in my dreams. Nightmares. Whatever. I knew the worm had turned last night when Billups went up for a 3-bomb and kicked Eddie House sqaure in the nuts on his way back down and then all cool and calm went to the line and buried 3 foul shots in a row. I’m not saying the Pistons have got this thing… because they don’t. These are two mirror image teams and the Pistons are just as capable of giving one away at home themselves. We’ll see.
In other news, congrats to the Big Ticket for his generous spirit…

Utah 123, Lakers 115 - Utah ties the series 2-2 in an overtime win. The best part of the game for me was when Kyle Korver drained two free throws towards the end of OT and Hubie deemed him to have “icewater in his veins.” He is pretty automatic, isn’t he? I’m convinced if the Magic had passed on J.J. two years ago, he’d be playing Kyle Korver’s minutes in Utah right now. I would imagine those “Mrs. Redick” tee shirts would be just as popular and just as pink. Apparently Korver is not quite on board with the tee shirts and at least one teammate has weighed in:
“That’s messed up.” –Deron Williams
The Lakers should win every game they play against the Jazz. They look that much better. Somehow though, the Jazz keep managing to win these home game squeekers.
I’m starting to think this series could go 7. I hope it does. I really want to create a “mrs. korver drinking game”…
- Peep a pink “Mrs. Korver” tank in the crowd - chug a beer
- Spot more than one “I Heart Kyle” baseball shirt - do two shots
- Every Kyle 3-pointer drained - chug a beer and do two shots (if he’s on that night, you are guaranteed to get completely fked up by the end of the game… like “crouched over the throne w/your roommate holding your hair back for you” trashed. Good times, good times.)
- Whenever Kyle ducks out of the way on defense - bow head in shame
- Triple bonus if in the grand ole tradition of “Grady’s Ladies”, the Mrs. Korvers unify and name themselves something really precious like “Korver’s Cuties” - drink the whole keg & a wine box
- Ok, I’m done.

Keeping up with the Kardashians - Lots of Reggie on tonight’s episode. Aww, and it’s not even my birthday. Thanks E!

Boston 99, Atlanta 65 - That’s the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it… But seriously now, why the hell did it take 7 games? It was mind-boggling the way the Hawks fell apart in Boston every game and then went back home and played so great. Thank the good lord all-mighty that we had and will continue to have home court advantage.
Notes from the game:
- Dear Marvin Williams, your claims that you were trying to keep “one of your best friends” Rondo from falling on the parkay were easily refuted by the replay shown on high definition surround sound of you DROPPING him on his head. So try again there sucker. What is it with this team? Horford puts T.J. Ford in the hospital and now this? Ever heard of making a play for the actual basketball? Enjoy the off-season. No love, me
- Ray Allen was missing everything. It was excruciating. I hope he gets his mojo back for Lebron & Co.
- The Posey hugs today were lovely as always. Sigh. I think I have a little crush on James Posey. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone. *wink*
- The Zohan movie doing the split-screen commercial with Baron Davis was hysterical.
Lakers 109, Utah 98 - I never really thought the outcome of this game was in question. Sure, the Jazz stayed in the game the whole time and always had a chance to go on a run, but come’on… who has a shot to win at Staples with fat Jack in the house cheering on his boys? Not to mention… Dyan Cannon, Spiderman, E from Entourage, Anthony Kiedis, Denzel… and so on and so on. Celebrity cheerleaders always give you an advantage. They’re like normal fans only a hundred times richer and better looking. Its like having the center of the sun in your corner and their light just leads every shot into the hoop like a rainbow into a kettle of gold. Oh… and I guess a little Kobe Bryant on your team doesn’t hurt either.
Reality crap on E! - I’m waiting with baited breath for the 10pm episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians to come on. Why, you ask? Because I can’t wait to find out how the compelling “Kardashian Civil War” is going to turn out? No way jose. I’m tuning in to see my boyfriend Reggie Bush on webcam. Ooooh baby baby. *wink* I really hope Kim realizes I want him back when she’s done. *wink-wink*
Oh yeah, I fell asleep before the end of the game, but way to go Hornets for beating the evil Spurs!

I went to the Celtics Pro Shop today at North Station and made a couple of important discoveries… 1) There is a lot more cool NBA women’s gear than there is for MLB (no offense, Alyssa Milano). 2) Apparently bedazzle is the new pink. What I mean by this is that it used to be where all the pro sports women’s gear was pink and now instead of pink, everything seems to be adorned with silver rhinestones. Oh well, I guess its a start. I like pink, but not on my fan gear. Team colors please, thankyouverymuch.
Anyway, the real purpose of this post was to blog about the Laker/Spurs game today. No, I’m not going to spew out stats or fawn over Kobe’s superhuman skills… Nope. You can get that anywhere. There are serious NBA blogs (see blogroll) out there that will fill you in on that crap. What I really want to bring to your attention are the real stars in the Staples Center. Yes, that’s right… Jack “I wear my sunglasses at night” Nicholson, Spike “I’m just here filming a Kobe spot for ESPN, otherwise I’d be suffering through another heinous Knicks game”, oh oh oh and of course, Mrs. Tony Longoria Parker. Every time I see ELP, I think of the 3 million and 22 cameos of her we saw during last year’s playoff run. I love how the production team always ALWAYS always has to point out the stars in the crowd. Its even better when they interview them. For instance, at a recent Celtics game, they interviewed longtime C-fan and Bostonian, Donnie Wahlberg. It was seriously good times. Donnie really knows his sh-t. He’s not just sitting there in a pink #5 jersey shimmying for the cameras *cough Jessica Simpson cough*.
Wow, that was seriously inane. Even for me. I win!
